whatever. technically i believe i'm still the winner here.

So that 18-kilometer upcoming Nordic ski race I wrote about where I was going to challenge Shawn again for the first time in six years? The one where I conceded that he was probably going to beat me this time?

Yeah, that happened. He beat me.

It was close. Not quite “I almost got smushed by a Twinkie truck,” close, but close-ish.

Which is to say, he beat me by 10 minutes.

On the bright side though, I was the overall winner for the women. First place!

What?

What’s that? How many women did I race?

Well, let me see…I’d have to do some figuring.

I’m so bad with numbers. And memory is such an inexact thing.

Well.

Actually, there was me. And then there was this other girl, see.

And. Umm.

Does it really matter?

Fine.

There were two of us.

But that other girl? She looked mean. Hateful-mean. And I also beat a bunch of guys that totally looked like they could have registered as girls.

When I got my trophy, which you can see from the photo is actually a bell with a triumphant message on it, I never even considered accidentally ringing it in front of the other girl’s face as I sauntered by.

I’m a good sport that way.

Also, Shawn? Even though his time was faster than mine, got third place in the men’s category.

He came in behind two ski racers from the Montana State University Team that I encouraged to enter the race and offered a ride with us.

I can’t be certain, but I think those MSU boys were completely impressed by my win.

Some guys that looked like they could have registered as girls. How funny is that, roflol he he he he. Also great that you beat Shawn and provided the two racers that beat Shawn that is even funnier. Did he at least get a ribbon? Or some memento of his Win? As usual you never fail to entertain. I am also interested in how your quest turned out.

Woohoo!!! You won! Doesn't matter how many people you beat, just that you beat them. And, really? Shawn beat you? Doesn't he have longer legs than you thus making the whole competition a wee bit skewed? Uh huh. Thought so.
